Quarkus Meetup next week

Next week I will talk at the Quarkus Meetup in Frankfurt. If you want to attend, here’s the registration link.

It will take place at CodeCentric, a place where we have already held the Quarkus Meetup Frankfurt and had a good time. My topics will be Konveyor and a little bit of the currently developed Konveyor AI. In general we will see how to easily migrate a Java Application to Quarkus with static code analysis and guidance. And discuss what the roadmap is and where the journey goes.

Neural Magic and Red Hat AI

AI is our hottest growth topic. With the Neural Magic acquisition Red Hat gained unique capabilities for customers who have embarked on their AI journey.

Brian Stevens (SVP and AI CTO) and Robert Shaw (Director of Software Engineering) from Neural Magic have agreed to hold an enablement session for Team Germany. This is a great opportunity for us to learn and discuss the value proposition of vLLMs.

Long story short, this is a way to make your LLMs 4 times shorter/more lightweight in terms of memory consumption and 2 times faster. And on top of that, using skupper aka Service Interconnect you can connect your LLMs between clusters and be as cost efficient as possible.

Model Context Protocol is nothing scary anymore

Anthropic, the company behind Agentic AI and MCP, has opened the latter to support REST APIs. This change is quite huge for the community as it lowers the threshold to start with MCP a lot (unless you don’t already use quarkus and langgraph :-D ).

Here’s a link to a nice lightning talk about this

Trusted Artifact Signer AppArcade

We have a new quite nice AppArcate to the Trusted Artifact Signer aka sigstore which shows how to do git commit signing.

Also, if someone is interested, there’s a new learning path.
